Black Friday · Cyber Monday 2026Black Friday camera & lens deals 2026
Real discounts on proven lenses and cameras — measured against manufacturer list price, not a made-up “was” price. We update this page through Cyber Monday.

How to read this page: “List ~” is the approximate US manufacturer list price. “~%” is the typical sale discount we see on that item. Neither is a live quote — tap through for Amazon’s price right now. This URL stays the same every year, so bookmark it.
Black Friday targets at a glance
If an item hits roughly the “typical sale” level below, it’s a fair deal; anything meaningfully lower is a great one.

Black Friday 2026 key dates
| Date (2026) | Event | What to expect |
|---|
| Early–mid November | Early Black Friday | Many manufacturer rebates start before Thanksgiving week; Sigma/Tamron discounts often appear first |
| Thu, Nov 26 | Thanksgiving | Retailers switch to their main Black Friday pricing |
| Fri, Nov 27 | Black Friday | Peak of camera and lens deals; bundles with extra batteries or cards |
| Mon, Nov 30 | Cyber Monday | Usually the same manufacturer rebates; occasional extra lightning deals |
| December | Holiday rebates | Many rebates continue into December — no need to panic-buy on Friday |
Real vs fake discounts: what to check
Black Friday is when camera prices genuinely drop — and when misleading discounts are most common. Five checks before you buy:
- Compare against MSRP, not the strike-through. A retailer’s “List Price” or “Was” price can be set high shortly before a sale. The manufacturer’s list price is the honest baseline — it’s what our percentages use.
- Look at a 90-day price history. Tools like Keepa or camelcamelcamel show whether today’s price is actually low. A “30% off” item that was the same price two weeks ago is not a Black Friday deal.
- Check who sells it. Prefer “Ships from and sold by Amazon.com” or the brand’s official store. Grey-market (“international version”) gear may carry no US warranty, and “renewed” or open-box items sometimes appear on the same page as new stock.
- Price the bundle honestly. Bundles padded with a generic bag, cheap filters, a slow SD card and a tripod can look like $300 of “free” extras. Only count accessories you’d actually buy — and remember a genuine spare battery is the one add-on almost everyone needs.
- Know the model cycle. Deep discounts on a body or lens often mean a replacement is out or coming. That can be a great buy (proven gear, lower price) — just make sure the older model has what you need.
Why camera prices are the same everywhere
Most camera makers use minimum advertised pricing and manufacturer-funded instant rebates. That means Amazon, Best Buy, B&H and other authorized dealers usually show the same price for the same item during Black Friday. Differences come from bundles, gift cards, credit-card offers and return policies, not the base price.
Lenses vs bodies
Lenses hold their value far longer than bodies, so a good lens bought on sale is rarely a regret. If budget is tight, a better lens on your current body usually improves your photos more than a new body with a kit lens.
Black Friday picks by mount
- Sony E: the Tamron 28-75mm G2, Sony FE 85mm f/1.8 and Sigma 18-50mm f/2.8 are the lenses to watch; the Sony a7 IV is the body. Full breakdown in our Sony E-mount guide.
- Canon RF: the RF 50mm f/1.8 STM is the easiest win; the EOS R8 is the full-frame body to watch. See the Canon RF guide.
- Nikon Z: the original Nikon Z5 is the standout full-frame value; pair it with the NIKKOR Z 40mm f/2. Browse Nikon Z lenses.
- Fujifilm X and Micro Four Thirds: fast primes like the XF 35mm f/2, Viltrox 33mm f/1.4 and Lumix 25mm f/1.7 are inexpensive upgrades — see Fujifilm X and MFT.
Black Friday FAQ
When is Black Friday 2026?
Black Friday is Friday, November 27, 2026, the day after Thanksgiving (Thursday, November 26). Cyber Monday is November 30, 2026. Camera and lens discounts typically begin earlier in November and many run into December.
Are Black Friday lens deals really cheaper?
Often, yes — camera makers run some of their largest instant rebates of the year in late November. But many “deals” are measured against inflated list prices. Compare against the manufacturer’s list price and a 90-day price history before you buy.
Is it better to buy on Black Friday or Cyber Monday?
For most camera gear it makes little difference, because manufacturer rebates usually cover the whole period and authorized retailers match each other. Buy when the item you want hits a price you’re happy with.
How can I tell if a camera discount is fake?
Check whether the “was” price was ever the normal selling price, whether the listing is new and sold by an authorized seller (not grey market or renewed), and whether a bundle’s “value” comes from cheap accessories. A price-history chart will show if the current price is genuinely low.
Should I buy last year’s model on sale?
Often it’s the best value. Bodies like the Nikon Z5 and lenses that have been replaced see their deepest discounts after the successor arrives. Check that firmware and parts support continue and that you don’t need the new model’s headline feature.
What’s the return window for Black Friday purchases on Amazon?
Amazon usually extends its return window for items bought during the holiday season into late January. Check the exact return policy shown on the product page and in your order before relying on it.
